About Me

Young man with curly brown hair, blue eyes, and a big smile, wearing a dark blue patterned shirt, standing against a plain off-white wall.

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UW-La Crosse, and have experience providing cardiac rehabilitation, treating short- and long-term injuries, and supporting K-12 students with movement disorders. Before becoming a physical therapist, I worked for three years as a Certified Personal Trainer. Through my combined expertise from personal training and physical therapy, I will work with you to achieve your goals: from addressing pre-existing pain/impairments ("Rehab") to preventing them from happening in the first place ("Prehab").

With the time to listen, skill to assess, and knowledge to diagnose and treat, I will provide the comprehensive and individualized one-on-one treatment that you deserve.

If you are looking for a physical therapist that works for YOU, not insurance companies, book a discovery call or an initial evaluation with me today!

Dr. Logan Goral, PT, DPT

My Philosophy

Everyone deserves to be able to move without pain, fear, or hesitation. However, there is no magic pill or single treatment that will get you there, despite what you may see on social media. Achieving this requires education, a comprehensive treatment plan, and active participation. I will empower you to take control of your movement and not rely on endless passive treatments. Movement is medicine and mobility, strength, and coordination are our best anti-aging drugs to stay active and healthy as long as possible.

I will take the time to get to know you, your goals, your preferences, and your learning style to be the physical therapist that you need.

My journey

Due to binge eating and living a sedentary life, I was overweight my entire childhood and was considered morbidly obese by the age of 15. Thanks to the guidance of my best friend, I got into weightlifting and managed to lose 60 pounds while also putting on a significant amount of muscle over the course of a few years while pursuing my undergraduate degree at UW-Madison. Although the progress was life changing, I wasn’t quite happy yet and thought about hiring a personal trainer when I realized I could just become one, so I did. I worked as a personal trainer at UW-Madison during my senior year and then continued to work as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness in Waunakee for nearly 3 years after graduating. During this time, I achieved something I never thought possible—I weighed 110 pounds less than my all-time heaviest.

Although I felt great, achieving my own goals while helping others achieve theirs, I kept running into the same problem—everyone had pain. Shoulders, backs, knees, hips, and so on, but the problem is that personal trainers are not equipped to address the pain, they’re equipped to avoid it. So, I got my doctorate in physical therapy and have been practicing in various settings and locations since graduating in 2023, but they all had their issues, so I started Polar PT to get back to what got me into the profession in the first place—providing exceptional care to make people feel and move better.

The Fun Stuff

Throughout my fitness and academic journeys, I discovered that I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). EDS comes in a variety of flavors, but mine primarily presents itself as a hypermobility condition in which the tissues of my body are extra stretchy and I am highly flexible. This also means that when I lost 110 pounds, I was left with a significant amount of loose skin, which I still have quite a bit of, but I have also undergone an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to remove a majority of it from my abdomen. Alongside EDS, it is not uncommon to have POTS, which basically just means that sometimes when I stand up or perform certain movements, I get lightheaded because my body is insufficiently providing enough oxygenated blood to my brain.

Aside from the fitness stuff, I love to eat; so much so that I have competed in eating competitions and have won over $1,000 in prizes. I also don’t think I have ever thought that a dessert was “too sweet,” so when it comes to making food, I love to bake. My friends and family would probably say that my signature dish is a red velvet brookie with a brown butter chocolate chunk cookie base. Pro tip: always remember to salt your desserts.

In my free time, you can either find me lifting weights in the gym or spending time with my wife and our two cats. We love to travel when we can and a tradition of ours is to get random tattoos wherever we go.
